Well, not quite… we’re heading down to Niagara Falls to see what all the hoo-haa is about.
Just a little FYI for anyone [foreign] driving in Canada – stay away from the cheap regular gasoline, it’s shit! We had a full tank yesterday and only managed to get 256 miles from it, where as when we had a tank of premium (all singing, all dancing, considerably much more expensive) gasoline, we got just under 600 miles from it – lesson learnt.
Here’s a rough idea of the drip down to Niagara Falls:

Well, another 600 miles have been chewed up and spat out over the past day or two. We set off from Lewiston, ME and headed up to Quebec, Canada.
The drive up to the border was spectacular – the scenery was unreal and breathtaking, I don’t know how else to explain it – simply stunning. We then crossed the border into Canada and it took a turn for the worse; the weather was shocking!
Most of the back-country road we were on were covered in about 2 or 3 inches of snow and compact ice, it was possibly the hardest 150+ miles I’ve ever driven. Throw on massive logging wagons, strong side winds and a distinct lack of cats eyes in the road made for a somewhat scary drive.
I’m not going to lie… Canada is rather crap. If it wasn’t for the scenery through the countrysides… it could be the most dullest place.
We stayed the night in Quebec City and that was enough, we wanted out, fast. So in the morning we planned a route down to Gananoque, ON… and here we are; shacked up in a little motel relaxing after a long days drive through back-roads and country side.
The route so far…
